The history of Bataby Dance
In 2022, I spontaneously showed a friend a few steps of Kizomba here in Valle Gran Rey, at the Vueltas Plaza. She was very impressed by the beauty of the dance — and that’s how it began. Soon after, I started teaching Kizomba to a small group of friends in open-air sessions in Vueltas and Playa.
In 2023, I moved to Tenerife, where I continued teaching for one and a half years in different hostels. As I always was surrounded by new people — most of them complete beginners — my focus was to make the dance as easy and enjoyable as possible right from the very first step.
To achieve this, I modified original step sequences and created new ones. I also slightly modified the music — making it a bit faster — so that the stepsequences are easier, and joyfuller to dance.
Now I’m back on my beloved Gomera, continuing to share this beautiful dance at the Vueltas Plaza, right in front of the Tuyo restaurant..
As my original Kizomba evolved into something entirely new, I gave it a new name: Bataby Dance.
It’s a completely original and beautiful way of dancing — super easy to learn and fun from the very beginning ❤️💃🏼🌟🚀✨

How long does the workshop last?
The workshop itself lasts about 35 to 40 minutes. After that, we usually keep dancing open end, just for fun and enjoyment.
Do I need a partner to join the workshop?
Not at all — couples and singles are both welcome. We rotate partners during the workshop so that everyone is equally included and can enjoy dancing with different people.
What kind of shoes should I wear for Bataby Dance?
Any light and comfortable shoes are perfect — just something in which feel good while dancing.
How much does participation cost?
There is no entrance fee. If you enjoyed the experience and would like to support the project, you’re welcome to contribute with a small donation.
